Image-based Computation of Physical Properties

Using an image-based simulation method, DigiM measures physical properties that are otherwise difficult or impossible to measure. Some physical properties that we compute are listed below. Please refer to industries page to find out specific examples on how a particular industry uses these properties.

Percolation Measurement

  • Tortuosity (min, max, distribution)
  • Percolation threshold

Fluid Properties

  • Absolute permeability
  • Molecular diffusivity
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Electrical conductivity

Two Phase Fluid Properties

Multiphysics with Chemical Reaction

  • Wettability
  • Gas combustion
  • Solid combustion
  • Droplet evaporation

Solid Properties

  • Electrical conductivity
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Elastic modulus

Uniformity, REV, and Anisotropy Analysis

  • Any listed properties in Cartesian, spherical, or cylindrical coordinate systems.
  • Any listed properties correlated with spatial heterogeneity
